Theatrical scenery is that which is employed as a setting for a theatrical creation. At the same time, the musical theater was evolving its own set of scenic practices, borrowing intensely from the burlesque and vaudeville style, with infrequent nods to the styles of the 'straight' theater. Everything came jointly in the 1980s and 1990s and, continuing to today, until there is no established design of scenic development and just about anything should go.
